As a child, Richard was bitten by the music bug. He excelled as a trumpet player, winning awards and accolades, and eventually winning a spot as a student of Fine Arts at the prestigious Howard University in Washington, D.C. After school, he became a touring musician, getting his start performing with legendary bluesman Johnny Taylor. He eventually signed an artist deal with Chrysalis Records where he wrote, produced, and performed. Richard’s best memory of that time is living in Tokyo, Japan for a year, playing the club circuit. Now Richard is pursuing his life long dream of acting, and is ready for the next step of his adventure that is life.
